I see this all the time.
I’ve been guilty of it too.
We have probably done this one this which is RUINING our fitness goals.
This thing we do, is the #1 reason we never get to our goals….
And it’s all encapsulated in one sentence:
“Oh I worked out today….I can eat this”.
Aha! You said that didn’t you?
Don’t worry, I have too.
The thing is…we cannot workout, then eat crap and expect to get to our goals.
If you want to lose weight, it won’t matter how many times you workout if you simply go and eat it all back.
You know, I used to own a run club in Brooklin and the amount of times I saw people run off to Tim’s after running for 30 minutes was crazy…
I even heard a pair of runners say they were going to Baskin’s….they had only ran a few km’s.
It shocking how easy it is to eat back all those calories.
Be very careful about falling into the “it’s ok I worked out” trap.
Why not try “Oh, I worked out so I should eat really well now”…..
Not as easy…but more rewarding.
So, avoid this food trap like the plague…make sure you remember to stay within your macro’s or calories after workouts.
Runners, this applies to LSD’s too. Make sure you fuel for the run and the recovery by placing protein and carbohydrates in the right spots, but do not eat a cow once your 24k is done.
I speak from experience here folks 🙂
