Bed Head, Morning Breath and Yesterdays Eyeliner

In: fitness

OK, so I just got in from teaching the 5:30am and 6:05 am classes. And yeh, while I don’t ever bounce out of bed at 4:30am, getting up and getting to the studio and working out with these peeps really kicks your day of right.

You get home feeling energized and ready for the day. You have time to make a good breakfast, get the kids ready, throw some laundry in.

You actually end up adding a couple of hours to your day that you can dedicate to you. Your stuff. Your organization and your fitness.

Here’s the thing, I know many of you reading this will automatically think: oh god, I could never get up that early, let alone workout!!!

But, you are looking at it all wrong….

See, everyone that comes to the 5:30am classes is not exactly running into class all bright eyed and bushy tailed. Hardly. Most arrived with bed head and morning breath. Myself included. We are not jazzed about getting at 4:45am and we don’t bound out of bed ready to greet the sunrise.

No. When we think about the early morning workouts, we focus on how we feel AFTER we are done. We all know that it kinda sucks on the front end of the workout…but the feeling AFTER you are done. The feeling of getting home to a quiet house, the feeling of knowing your workout is done and feeling like a million bucks, the feeling of knowing you don’t have to worry all day about working out….it’s priceless.

There is a saying you know, and it says: workout in the morning before your brain figures it out.

^^ and it’s so true.

The last thing you want is to spend your day talking yourself out of a workout and then feeling guilty that you bailed.

Now I know that not everyone can do the early mornings, which is why we have classes running through until 8pm at night. But, if you have ever wondered if you could become that early morning workout person that presently makes your roll your eyes, then I urge you to come try it out.

What’s the harm in trying? After all, if you fail, you have 5-6 other classes every day to do instead.

Come for 2 weeks, try a couple of morning classes, and you will see what I am talking about. You’ll feel the afterglow of an explosive workout and I bet you love it:
