It’s not often that I force people to do stuff…
I don’t like being tooooo much of a bossy britches.
But today, today I am going to reallllllly insist you do this ONE thing.
It’s something I wish I had done before losing the weight.
What is it?
Well, it’s a before picture….and before you cringe, let me tell you why:
See, the process of transforming your body is incredible.
It’s a hard slog and represents your focus, consistency and determination.
Sometimes on your journey you want to throw the scale out the window, and sometimes you feel like nothing is working.
Then you pull out your before picture and compare to a current snap of yourself.
And that smile spreads across your face.
And you realize how far you have come.
NOTHING BEATS THIS FEELING.
Having a before picture handy is like your own secret weapon against getting de-motivated.
Being able to remind yourself visually is a great motivator to keep going.
BUT IT DOESN’T STOP THERE:
Not only will you inspire yourself, but you will be massively inspiring to others.
When you show others how your body has transformed, you remind them that it IS possible to lose weight and get fit.
They start to think “oh well, if she can do it, so can I”.
You inspire change by being able to show off your before and after pictures.
^^^^ This is why I am so bummed I have so few to show you.
I was too embarrassed by my body to be in front of the camera…..
BUT now I regret it. I implore you to take that before (or mid journey) picture and forget how that image makes you feel NOW.
This is a project for your future self. It’s not about today.
HOW TO TAKE THE PICTURE EFFECTIVELY:
Take 2 shots of your body in shorts and a sports bra (or just shorts for guys).
You want to see as much skin as possible as you will be able to see the muscle growth better.
First shot: facing the camera. This is great for noting changes in hips, stomachs and faces.
Second shot: side of the body. This is great for seeing the flattening of the stomach, shrinking thighs, glute muscle development and bicep and triceps.
Then, store those photo’s in a safe place.
DO NOT just keep them in your camera roll, only to find you accidentally pocket posted them on Facebook <<<< FAIL. Have I convinced you yet? Let me know if you have a good, cringe worthy before pic….you never know when it will come in handy! Misty “lights, camera, action” Mozejko PS: Having awesome before and afters can help win you cash.
