My 120lb AHA! Moment

Ok, member Denise asked me: "at what point (e.g.: how many pounds had you lost/how many months had you been exercising and losing weight) did it finally registered that you were actually going to make it this time!  Did you have an "ah-ha" moment during your journey?"

Ok, so most of you know that I lost 120 pounds during my journey to become a personal trainer and nutritionist. And, being someone who was obese from her teenage years, it didn't just melt away over night.

And so, it actually took me 2.5 years to lose that weight 10 years ago. Yep, that's a long time BUT, I kept it off and that's the key.

When I first started working out, I was kinda expecting that I would lose weight quickly. After all I was putting in all this effort, time and money so therefore, I should see a drop on the scale every week..

…RIGHT?

WRONG.

IT TOOK ME 9 MONTHS OF BOOT CAMP BEFORE I LOST A SINGLE POUND.

Can you imagine doing boot camp for 9 months and not seeing any losses…at all?

But, I kept plugging away at it. 3 times a week. I tried to eat better, I knew I was getting stronger. But the one thing I wanted most of all evaded me. I wanted that dam scale to budge. But it didn't.

And so all I had left was my faith that eventually it would come off and I would keep going until that day.

And, guess what. That day came. Slowly but surely, the weight came off. Pound by pound and inch by inch. It was slow. It was inconsistent. It was a lot like watching paint dry. But, my stubbornness won out, and a couple of years later I was at my lowest, weight ever.

To be honest, I didn't have an AHA! moment. I just used my bull headed approach and powered my way through those 2.5 years.

Some days it seemed pointless. I wish I had just known that it would all come right in the end. It really would have stopped me questioning myself every single day.

And so YOU, dear reader, YOU need to know that as long as you stick with boot camp and try your best with your nutrition program IT WILL all work out in the end and you will get to where you want to be. It might take 2.5 years but OH WELL. It'll never, ever come back on.

So don't question your program with us, don't question yourself. Just keep your faith in our boot camp and trust me when I say, you will succeed.
