Have you ever been on the brink of financial devastation?
Like, so broke you have simply no idea how you are going to pay the rent and buy food for the kids?
I have…and it absolutely sucks.
3 years I walked out of my marriage. I took my son and left my husband, my house and a 6 figure business I ran from my gorgeous century home.
I just couldn’t take it anymore. I decided to cut things off clean and ask for nothing more than to be left alone. No child support, no alimony. Keep the house, keep the land, lets stay friends and move forward.
I did however have a fledgling business. A little boot camp I was running in a park. It was only six months old and just a wee bairn when I decided to take this most insane financial leap.
It couldn’t support me. Not at $3000 a month. My new condo, divorce bills and business overheads ate up money quicker than I could make it.
And so I decided to grow. I made another risky decision, and that was to get a brick and mortar location. I trusted myself enough to know I could conjure up enough members to keep the lights on and rent paid.
And, all be it with a few shut off notices and some rather interesting financial juggling, I managed to keep the lights on, the bills paid and my staff on payroll.
I mean yeh….I ate a lot of cheap pasta and bought a lot of second hand clothes. And yeh, I didn’t always make it through the month without a sobbing session on the phone with my mum.
But I managed.
And so will you. You could be facing some really tricky stuff this Winter, maybe you are calculating some big, scary money issues. But it will work out.
The one thing I did, even though I was so broke I told my landlord the reason he didn’t have his January rent cheque is because my billing software malfunctioned over the New Year (it wasn’t even 1999)…
…the one thing I did was get a mentor.
I held onto this mentor as long as I could. I learned, I absorbed and implemented.
I then became too broke again and had to stop, but soon after, once the tiniest bit of money trickled in, I got another mentor. And this time I learned something new.
But you see, even when I knew I should probably not spend any more money, I kept seeking help.
I kept reading, absorbing and implementing.
Even when you are in complete dire straits…don’t stop spending money on your education. Whether it’s in business, in health or in reinventing the new you.
Every trainer here at boot camp is a mentor and role model. Your nutritionist that guides you monthly is your mentor. Me, the business owner, is your mentor.
We are here to keep pushing you forward, no matter your problems. Because we know, that the world simply cannot come to a standstill, even when times are dark.
Andrew is also your mentor….having lost 80 pounds himself, he is here to transition you into boot camp so you can have the same success. He’ll get you started with a 2 week test drive:
All we want to do is take you to the next stage of health 🙂 And good mentors will always do just that.
