When I first started eating well, I couldn’t believe how little food I needed to actually stay full and nourished.
I was so used to filling up on carbs and sugar that it felt like I was constantly eating.
And I was.
Bread, cereal, fruit, crackers, more bread….these were my staples.
I even used to eat a large double fudge blizzard every day. EVERY DAM DAY.
So yeh, sugar was my life.
And sugar is not filling.
What is filling are good fats, lean proteins and complex carbs.
The sugary carb cycle I was caught in basically filled me up for 20 minutes or so, and then, when my blood sugar tanked, I felt hungry and sugar deprived again and so…
…a bowl of cereal would fix it.
I mean, I didn’t know any better.
I didn’t even think I ate that bad.
But I was miserable, obese and lethargic [and headed towards diabetes-ville].
Anyway, because I’m a stubborn woman and won’t listen to anyone, ever, it took me three years in school to actually figure out what my body needed to eat.
I can tell you, it wasn’t Cap’n Crunch.
I switched everything over to chick peas, homemade hummus and brown rice.
I stopped eating crap and made sure that every bite, every morsel that entered my body was good for me.
I didn’t follow a strict regime, I didn’t need to deprive myself, I just switched my low quality diet to a high quality food plan.
I just decided to stop treating my insides like a treatment plant, and, respected it with whole, organic foods.
The leanest I have ever been in my life was when I only ate organic foods….and that is no coincidence.
Anyway, the meal plan that we have just created is a direct reflection of that lifestyle.
And no, you don’t have to go 100% organic, all you have to do is follow the day by day meal plan.
The lean proteins, the vegetables and the fats are going to super charge your energy levels which will make you CRAVE activity.
You’ll find your need for good food increases but your weight decreases.
You’ll soon find your tastebuds change and what was once a salty treat turns into a mouth-pickling indelicacy that makes you cringe with disgust.
