Now, i’m sure there are many women worldwide who think of me before they go to bed at night. And i’m ok with being adored for all the right, and wrong, reasons.
I love being the last thing you think about before you slide into your dreams and so when a member messaged me from her bed last night, I thought I should share what she was thinking…
I hope she won’t mind.
As I lie here tonight trying to stretch out this very stiff and sore body, I could not help think of my workouts and why I (most of the time) love coming to 10 000 Strong.
You see I find North America very judgmental and that ones worth is measured from the minute you get up …… however 10 000 Strong is one place I don't feel that. I can just show and up work out…… that is it, I can be weak, getting strong or so strong but there is no judgment…… just pure encouragement and fun.
I am a last in first out girl so not much time to write the love notes but wanted to let you know and the trainers and my 5.30am peeps that they are appreciated. This no judgement zone is one of my favorite spots to come too. Thank you for creating that.
Now, I can say I 100% agree.
I do find our society judgemental. I actually found the UK to be WORSE when it came to feeling judged by appearance, but then I was a size 18 when size 00 was the norm.
I do think that women are deemed more successful by their looks and Pinterest boards. I think we live in a world where we are highly judged on aesthetics of our body, our car, our house and all of our material belongings.
And it’s exhausting to feel like you are being judged. It’s deflating to feel peoples eyes scanning you for your faults and defects. And, especially in the gym setting, the last thing you want to feel like the other people in room have any negative thoughts about you whatsoever…
And that’s why, when I created 10,000 Strong, I have been MILITANT about creating a positive environment. I don’t do drama, I don’t entertain cliques, I don’t put up with negativity.
There are 2 choices here:
Love your fellow boot campers, or leave.
In a life where we are constantly ranked on performance, achievement, financial assets or looks, it’s nice to be able to find some solace at 10,000 Strong.
If you’re tired of feeling put down, excluded or like you are being negatively judged then run (don’t walk) to my studio.
It’s all good, all the time.
You can come get a hit of the good stuff right here for 2 weeks. I promise you’ll leave walking on sunshine:
See ya at the studio
