The trouble with Claire.

First off all, Claire is a great girl.

She has a big heart, she’s funny, she looks after every one and she works hard.

Claire has a tendency to leave herself till last though.

Over the past few years, Claire has focussed so much on every one else, that she saved less and less time for herself.

Her hobbies have disappeared.

There is little to no time spent on herself.

Over the past few years, she has gained 15 pounds.

She now huffs heavily at the top of the stair case.

Her back hurts and she cannot remember the last time she touched her toes.

Claire feels older than her years and this makes her sad.

So, to get over her sadness to fixes a glass of wine. Goes out for dinner with friends.

Claire reaches for a quick fix to make her feel temporarily better.

Claire tells herself that she is beautiful…although she doesn’t feel it.

I want to tell Claire something very important.

I want to sit with her and remind her that:
SHE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN HER LIFE.

I want Claire to start looking after herself. I don ‘t want her to focus on the weight loss, I want her to focus on becoming strong.

I want her to forget the scale on focus on how she FEELS.

I want Claire to remember what it feels like to be proud of yourself.
