So here it is: if you over eat on carbs, you will retain more water?
Ok, without getting to boring, here are the Coles Notes….
Carbs are converted to glycogen in the body.
Glycogen is stored in the muscles for use later BUT, every gram of glycogen is stored WITH 3 grams of water.
So, if you over eat on carbs you store more water.
Conversely, when people go super low carb, they shed lots of weight in the beginning.
It’s not fat loss (yet) it’s water weight that is being flushed out as the body burns through the stores of glycogen.
So, to feel lean and less blobby, eat the right amount of carbs 🙂
Not sure how many carbs to eat?
